The law is the Word of God. Faith is imparted in hearing the Bible because it gives life.  The truth is being read in order to free us from the bondage of sin. "24 So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith 25 Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian" (Galatians 3:24-25 NIV).
